I grew up eating at Lillian's (Tony's in the 70's) and now live in San Francisco but come back every time I'm in town because it's still the best and I've tried the rest.
Nice neighborhood spot. They make very good sicilian slices here. Ray Romano says this is his favorite pizza
I dream about the meatball and garlic pie here! I live in Sunnyside and make it a point to drive over to eat a fresh slice. It's perfectly garlicky and super cheesy. Even if it's not on the menu, they will make it and I hope they never stop.
I've ordered takeout from Lillian Pizzeria a bunch of times. Our go-to order is normally an eggplant and a chicken parm. hero. The chicken parm hero is really good, but their eggplant is on another level. Seriously, it's some of the best eggplant I've ever had. Their broccoli pinwheels are also really good. I always get one of those when we order, and my husband gets a pepperoni one. I've always done takeout, but the place itself is nice. It's clean and easy to grab a table. The staff is kind and hardworking. They are a bit out of the village of Forest Hills, but they are close to the stadium if you're in the area for a concert.
I recently had the pleasure of taking out food from Lillian's, a cozy pizza place that left a lasting impression with its mouthwatering offerings. Our meal included a variety of items, and I must say, it was a good experience. We ordered a meatball Parm hero, and it was nothing short of excellent. The meatballs were flavorful and tender, and the combination of cheese and sauce made for a great hero. Similarly, the Eggplant Parm hero was a delight, with perfectly fried eggplant slices, a generous layer of cheese, and a savory sauce. Both heroes left us thoroughly satisfied and craving more. We also decided to try a couple of pinwheels, one with broccoli and the other with pepperoni. Both were good The Grandma pizza was also a winner. There were 12 slices in total, so there was plenty leftover and it heated up well the next day. In fact all the leftovers were very good. The Chicken Roll didn't quite reach the same level of goodness as the heroes, it was still a tasty choice. To round out our meal, we ordered Penne alla Vodka, a classic Italian dish done justice at Lillian's. The creamy tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. However, the real stars of the show were the Meatball Parm and Eggplant Parm heroes. They boasted solid portions and exquisite taste. In terms of value, Lillian's certainly didn't disappoint. The friendly atmosphere and delicious food made it a place I would gladly return to. If you're in the mood for pizza and satisfying portions of basic Italian-American fare (menu is not too crazy), Lillian's is definitely worth a visit.
I've never eaten here in person, but I've taken plenty to go. My parents love NY style pizza (they live in the South), and this is the place they always want me to order it from. They're great, and the service is phenomenal. I wanted to comment about their catering, because they shined here. I had my kid's birthday party over at Dream City and needed to order pizza. We also had a guest who was lactose-intolerant, and another who was gluten-free. My son also has an egg allergy, so when I called to confirm that there was no egg in their pizza dough, they confirmed that it was correct. Some old school NY pizza joints don't appreciate this question, but the owner here was kind and understood exactly why I would want to ask this question. They also made sure that my guest who was lactose-intolerant wouldn't have a pasta dish made with any butter or milk. They delivered the 8 pies, gluten free personal pizza, and pasta for my lactose-intolerant guest right on time. I had placed the order a few days before, so I was worried about them being on time, but that wasn't an issue at all. Everyone raved about the pies, and our guests with the food intolerances were happy with their food, too. The delivery driver was pleasant and made sure things went where they needed to. If you need a good pizza caterer in the area, look no further than Lillian's.
A very solid local neighborhood spot. Found this place from a Yelp search and learned it has been around for a long time and it has a very strong following. I like this place because it has a very specific neighborhood pizzeria feel to it and I love that. The food: Sicilian- I don't normally like pies fresh out of the oven since I like the bottom to be crispy, but I was really impressed with the square. The biggest thing that stood out was their very flavorful tomato sauce. It had a very robust flavor with a nice tang, the dough was nice and fluffy, the dough had good texture. Regular Slice- It's a nice classic NY slice. Good sauce, good cheese, good texture. I am a fan Broccoli Pinwheel- This pinwheel was very different from other pinwheels I have tried, the one here wasn't thick like other places but the one here was almost flat and was really good. I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed the broccoli pinwheel because it is normally an item that is an afterthought for me but I would totally order it again. Pepperoni Pinwheel- I thought this was great as well, nice thin pinwheel with pepperoni but I did like the broccoli one a tad more but both are worth ordering.
Ordered two slices with drinks at Lillian Pizzeria. Pizza hit the spot for an afternoon snack. Thin slice pizza just the way I like it with a crunchy crust. Patrons coming in for their pizzas before the concert at Forest Hills Stadium. Very short walk from the venue. Local pizzeria in the Forest Hills area. Corner of 69th Avenue and Harrow Street. Will be back again to try their other dishes.
